A Liberal arts & Industries Building is the 2nd oldest of the Smithsonian museums. A building, designed by Adolf Cluss, opened in 1881 as the National Museum, & hosted an maiden ball for President James A. Garfield. Inside 1910 the natural history collections were moved to the new National Museum of Natural History, and a old museum was given its present title. Within 1964 a leftover exhibitions were moved to the National Museum of Science and Technology. A museum reopened by owning its simply lasting exhibit around 1976, 1876: A Centennial Exhibition. This contained numbers of objects, from either through a world, which were present at a 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. The toddlers's theater, called a Discovery Theater was besides opened in the museum. A Liberal arts & Industries Building was principally utilized to home irregular exhibitions. Within 2004 the museum was again closed for renovation. A Discovery Theater remains open.
